About Michael Staff's Homepage

Michael has started working on his second album, which will include chamber works in addition to works for concert piano solo. The second album will be released as a vinyl in addition to digital format.

Michael was commissioned by artist Mary Ince to compose a work for string quartet as the final work in her series in which she paints musical works onto canvas. The painting was unveiled with the premiere of the music at the University of Redlands Art Gallery.

As gold medalist in the Manhattan International Music Competition, Michael gave a performance at Carnegie Hall's Weill recital hall. Along with selections from J.S. Bach's Art of Fugue, he performed original compositions, including the premiere of his concert variations on a theme by Gounod.
